March 2007: patsy created a postcard map of the world which was
auctioned on eBay to benefit Greenpeace.
She began by projecting a map of the world onto silk fabric donated by Valrie Massey, a photographer
and artist friend.
She painted a thin line of a water-soluble resist to separate the continents from the oceans; then she
painted the land masses and oceans separately using silk paints.
After heat-setting the paint, she prepared and quilted the fabric and marked it into 4" x 6" rectangles
for postcards.
Once she cut the cards apart, she sent them in envelopes to artists all over the world, who signed them,
added personal sayings, and returned them in the mail
Upon their return, the cards were reassembled and auctioned to raise money for Greenpeace.
